Kemal Özkan Yılmaz

With over 20 years of extensive experience, throughout my career I have worked in lean management, operations management, performance improvement, system design, strategic management model development, and international cooperation development. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to serve as a trainer in world-class production techniques, quality management philosophies, and business development. During this time, I participated in projects that received local and international EFQM and TPM-JIPM quality awards.

After completing my high school education at F.M.V. Nişantaşı Private Işık High School, I earned my bachelor’s degree from Yıldız Technical University in Industrial Engineering. During my undergraduate studies, I started my professional career as a project assistant at Mercedes Benz A.Ş. and Beko Electronics A.Ş., providing services in organizational development, industrial engineering, and product management. Following my graduation, I continued my professional career at Beko Electronics A.Ş., gaining experience in organizational development, industrial engineering, and international sales and marketing. During the same period, I completed my master’s degree in Management and Organization at Marmara University. I earned my doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on Contemporary Management Studies at Işık University. I gained significant experience in managerial roles at retail companies such as Teknosa, Mudo, and Ve-Ge.

At Beko Electronics A.Ş., I was responsible for shipments to 17 European countries (including turnkey after-sales conditions, such as service guarantees when necessary), increasing the profitability of my portfolio significantly and growing it beyond EUR 140 million, while establishing strategic partnerships. At Teknosa, in my role combining procurement, marketing, and category management, I managed supply chains primarily from Italy and Far Eastern countries (Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam). As the first industrial engineer employed at Mudo, I designed the company’s transformation through strategy-business development and internal audit roles, established the sales-stock-product-supply-performance management system, and ultimately brought it to a world-class exemplary level. At Ve-Ge, responsible for sales and supply chain management, I helped increase annual sales rapidly from 45 million USD to 85 million USD; alongside business and sales development, I established the product cost structure and supply relationship management system, and led the company to be the first in its sector in Turkey to switch to contract-based sales, thus maintaining profitability despite price hikes, shortages, and rising market prices, increasing exports even amid the jet crisis.

Since September 2018, I have been teaching graduate courses at Işık University Social Sciences Institute, and since February 2019, I have also been lecturing at Istanbul Kültür University Business Department. I have published international books in eight foreign languages. Academically, I have contributed articles to international peer-reviewed journals, conference papers, and international book chapters. Additionally, as a board member at California-based Transform CX, I have focused on customer experience and business process optimization, enabling me to express my passion for developing customized solutions for clients. Meanwhile, I continue mentoring, training, and management consultancy activities.

My operational background, matured through hands-on experience in the field, provides me with the ability to lead, educate, and make an impact at every organizational level. With the knowledge and experience gained throughout my career, I have acted as a change ambassador in every company I worked for, building and managing smart teams, and ensuring these employees have taken over management positions in their functions.
